Small enterprises contribute 8% to the total amount of products and services produced in the district.
There work 174 entrepreneurs (2.5% of Republic of Karelia total) and 1 company with foreign capital which has 12 employees and manufactures RUR 2 million (EUR 66,500) worth products. Some negative tendencies can be observed in the development of small enterprise. Many of the registered enterprises either never began operating or were liquidated soon.
