Tourism is one of the promising spheres for development. The district possesses the necessary potential.

The main aspects of tourism to be promoted are:

  • ecological and nature tourism in the Tolvajärvi landscape reserve;
  • learning tourism based on the Kollasjärvi war memorial complex;
  • organization of the Koitajoki - Tolvajärvi nature park;
  • ecological, water sports, fishing and hunting tourism;
  • recreational tourism;
  • active involvement of historical and cultural heritage in tourist activities (folk narration centres in villages of Korpiselkä and Tolvajärvi, St. George chapel (XVII cent.) in the village of Veshkelitsa, the "Swedish stone" in the village of Porosozero, etc.).
